Alphabet Inc. CEO Sundar Pichai said Google will be developing artificial intelligence-based programs similar to large language models like Google LaMDA.
Users will be soon able to use such language models as a companion to search, the CEO said. He also added that they are just at the beginning of the AI journey and the best is yet to come.
The global rival of Google, Microsoft corp. has attracted internet users by outlining plans to add artificial intelligence capabilities from the startup OpenAI, including the ChatGPT content generator, to various products like the Bing search engine.
Microsoft’s move to incorporate Artificial Intelligence has led to a belief that it could pose a considerable challenge to Google’s dominance in search.
The CEO of Google announced their plans on a conference call following the internet search giant’s fourth-quarter earnings report. It is expected to be implemented in the coming weeks and months.
